Any good silent cpu cooler for AMD Ryzen 7 2700x

MikeMikeson

Hello.

I'm currently using the stock cooler provided by AMD. I've been thinking of wanting to buy a new cpu cooler.

Are there any good silent cpu cooler that is within my budget? (24-80$)

A cpu cooler that fits would do me justice.

Motherboard: ASrock b450m pro4

Case: Cooler Master Elite 311 plus

Thanks :^)

Personally I use the Noctua D15 SE AM4. It comes with an inline resistor to bring the fan speeds down. https://noctua.at/en/products/cpu-cooler-retail/nh-d15-se-am4

If you want to stick to Cooler Master, Amazon currently has this on sale https://www.amazon.com/Cooler-Master-MasterAir-Dual-Tower-MAP-D6PN-AFNPC-R1/dp/B07CPY5LP1/ref=sr_1_1?keywords=masterair+ma620p&qid=1575995135&sr=8-1

Either one should do the trick

I was about to go the same way regarding the NH D15, but the OP's case has a max CPU cooler clearance of 157mm, which might rule out the NH D15 (160mm), Be Quiet! DR4/DRP4/Slim (159.4mm), and maaaybe even the CM Hyper 212 Black Edition (158.8mm) and Master Air (158.4mm). IDK if the spec sheet on the CM Elite 311 left out some wiggle room or if that's the absolute maximum CPU clearance.

Ooh good catch. Thanks!

As for coolers that are definitely shorter than 157mm:

Be Quiet! Dark Rock TF for $89 USD (a little over budget)

Noctua NH-L9x65 SE-AM4 $59 USD

Scythe Mugen 5 Rev. 5 $48 USD

All of these should max out around 25dB compared to the Wraith Prism's 40+ dB at load.

Why do you want a new cooler? Are temps or noise too high? Have you tried lowering fan speeds?

What ram are you using? Where are you shopping / located?

1. Strange thread necro. ?

2. BQ DRP4 will not work for OP. His case has a max CPU cooler clearance of 157mm, and the DRP4 is 162.8mm, just a hair too tall. It's also a little over budget.

3. ML120L would work and fit his budget. I'm not sure if it fits the "quiet" requirement though. The fan is a little noisy on its own outside of PWM, but also adding a pump doesn't help.
