Macbook Pro - Charging through dongle?

Hi guys, as the title says:

 

Is it okay to charge my MacbookPro through usb-c hub ? - It has a usb-c port with the lightning icon next to it, and I can charge my Macbook through it, it seems that it charges as fast as normally putting the charger in one usb-c port on Macbook.

 

Would something like this hurt my Macbook?

 

(I have Macbook with 2 Thunderbolts, but I need to connect both to dongles because I need 2 display outs for 2 monitors)

Perfectly fine of course. Should even be mentioned on your dongle's product page that it's the whole purpose of the USB-C port on it.

^^^ One of the features of USB-C/TB3, it can carry data and power at the same time. Funnily enough, you can even charge a MacBook off another MacBook just by plugging them into each other (the last one plugged in charges off the other). At least it worked for the 2016 MacBooks, IDK if it still does with the wider Pro/Air lines.

USB-C is designed so that anything can be plugged into anything and always be safe. Depending on what each side supports you may get something cool or nothing at all, but never anything damaging (as long as the devices are compliant obviously).
