g-sync info

so i just got a new monitor (AOC C24G1) and it has g-sync 

 

so i have some questions about g-sync 

 

i've seen some info about input lag when fps goes over your refresh rate

 

so what do i have to enable/disable to use g-sync?

You should leave G-Sync always on, what changes is that games you want eye candy and are slower paced you use V-Sync and competitive games you want fps you use FastSync.

 

G-Sync alone doesn't solve anything without some other synchronizing going on.

Gsync only works when your fps is lower than your maximum refreshrate so it can adjust the refreshrate to the your fps. If your fps goes over your maximum refreshrate gsync no longer works so you need another technique to synchronize the refreshrate and your frames like vsync or quick sync. I personally don't even bother with either as once i go over 240 fps frame tearing is virtually impossible for me to see at that speed.

Use DP connection and card that's 10 series or newer.
