MW definitely goes widescreen. Go into graphic settings and change it to the native resolution of your monitor.

Sorry, didnt see this separate message! Saw your signature mentions a 4k monitor?

Also, if its already in the right resolution and has boxing, that is very strange. Try geforce experience and use the optimize game feature. See if that works.

Did you change the aspect ratio to 21:9 too? The option is right underneath the resolution.

It's probably not a 21:9 monitor.  3440x1440 isn't actually 21:9, it's 21.5:9.  If it worked when you left it to default, I don't understand why you changed it to begin with.

How many times do I need to say that "the new Alienware" is basically meaningless?

You're getting those black bars because you set the aspect ratio to 21:9 on a 43:18 monitor. Just leave it to Automatic and it will work fine.
