Switching graphics card what do I need to do?

Switching from a 1050ti to a 1070.

 

Anything Important I need to do (apart from actually swapping the card).

Some people recommend DDU but going from a Pascal to Pascal card shouldn't require new drivers

I WILL find your ITX build thread, and I WILL recommend the SIlverstone Sugo SG13B

 

Primary PC:

i7 8086k - EVGA Z370 Classified K - G.Skill Trident Z RGB - WD SN750 - Jedi Order Titan Xp - Hyper 212 Black (with RGB Riing flair) - EVGA G3 650W - dual booting Windows 10 and Linux - Black and green theme, Razer brainwashed me.

Draws 400 watts under max load, for reference.

 

How many watts do I need? ATX 3.0 & PCIe 5.0 spec, PSU misconceptions, protections explained, group reg is bad

So all I need to do is physically swap the card?

Probably want to turn the computer off first :)

Also make sure your power supply is good enough to support the upgrade.

I’d still reinstall the drivers, but yeah pretty much.

Turn off PC, physically switch the GPU and make sure to plug in the connectors the 1070 needs.

 

MAIN PC:

Not if you're just going from Pascal to Pascal.

 

If you were getting a 16 or 20 series Nvidia GPU, or any AMD GPU, I would uninstall drivers, but with it being a 1050ti to 1070, you should have no problems.
