Better GPU for Blender ? (Radeon Pro Duo / RTX 2080 ti)

Recommended Posts

I'm not up to speed with NVidia's cards, only heard a mention about 2080's ray tracing. I really only use my setup for rendering in Blender and can't decide which GPU would be better, either the Radeon Pro Duo as it has 32gb RAM or the RTX 2080 ti ?

What about the Radeon 7? it's a very solid Blender card and it has 16GB of HBM2 VRAM.

for blender go for the radeon Vega 2 is has hbm2 memory which blender will benefit from and it has similar performance to the 2080 with more and better vram

OptiX in Blender 2.81 support hardware acceleration using the RT cores in RTX gpus, the result is just awesome.

Not sure how many people know this but Blender "2.81" using AMD cards have slower render times than in 2.8, not sure if this is a bug or not and hopefully there will be a fix which probably makes this a redundant post just a heads up.

Still looking through some comparisons on Youtube etc, quite surprised the cost difference between 2080 and Radeon VII.
