Go to solution Solved by trevb0t,

I would just try to find an office getting rid of older Intel PCs. It's not super hard to find something for 50 bucks or less with a duo/quad core.

Spend the rest on a decent GPU and a PSU that won't murder you in your sleep.

Hello LTT,

My friend has approached me and asked me to help him get a pc for CS:GO with a budget of €250.

We are based in Ireland and are willing to buy used.

Him, with no prior PC knowledge, had found a Core 2 Duo and GT 710 for €200, which I immediately told him to forget abut.

I was thinking of doing a Ryzen 3 1200 with a used RX 570.

Any help is appreciated.

Thanks.

No monitor needed, just a cheap kb and mouse that I'll probably get him for Christmas and will use free W10.

I'd just build around the 2400G and add a GPU when your needs more horsepower. This way you don't buy into a dead platform bu you'll have plenty of upgrade options later on. The 2400G should be fine for CSGO medium settings.

Sure thing! Through local trade markets or on ebay (or Irish equivalent) I would look for a used RX 580 8GB.

PCPartpicker doesn't have a lot of data for Ireland, but based only on their data, I'd do like:

https://ie.pcpartpicker.com/product/b37v6h/be-quiet-system-power-9-500-w-80-bronze-certified-atx-power-supply-bn246

(See if you can get that for a little less through available retailers.)
