Which of these cards is best with a Ryzen 5 2400G?

Hi all,

I'm considering a graphics card to add to my beloved Ryzen 5 2400G / 16Gb 3200 rig.

Please note that I use a 1080p monitor, I'm not looking for "extreme" settings and prices in my country are usually higher than in the US. 

 

I can get one of the following cards, sorted from cheapest to most expensive, with prices ranging from a little less than 150€ and 165€ (roughly 166$ - 182$):

 

- RX 570 4Gb

- RX 570 8Gb

- RX 580 4Gb

- GTX 1650 Super 4Gb

- RX 580 8Gb

 

Which one would you choose?
I'm guessing any one of them would work great with my CPU and honestly I think it would be pointless to go higher than a 1660Ti (which is MUCH more expensive!) .

On Amazon I can find:
- MSI RX 570 ARMOR 4Gb OC - 137€ ( = 151$)

- XFX RX 570 RS 8Gb XXX - 149€ ( = 165$)

 

On other sites I can find:

- Powercolor RX 580 Red Dragon 8Gb - 167€ ( = 185$)
- XFX RX 580 4Gb - 164€ ( = 181$)

- Inno3D GTX 1650 Super 4Gb - 163€ ( = 180$)

 

My self imposed budget is more or less 150€.

580 4GB is out when 8GB is this close in price

 

MSI Armor on Polaris cards suck because they are loud and will not survive an European heatwave

 

Get XFX RX 570 if you strictly want to keep it within 150EUR

 

Get 1650S if you may record on-screen content, it has much better built-in video encoder than Polaris

 

Between 8GB RX 580 and 4GB 1650S I'd still choose the 1650S because while performance is very similar overall, 1650S draws less power and kicks out less heat. 8GB isn't very useful at 1080p when you dont max out settings (especially textures, this affects VRAM usage the most). Also because Polaris cards are actually more expensive than they were before.

Thanks, that's exactly the kind of information I was looking for.

So basically, as I suspected I can skip the 8Gb models.
I don't record / stream but it seems the 1650S could be a nice one.

Epilogue: I managed to get a used 4Gb XFX RX580 GTS for 86€.
Considering It takes at least double that price to buy a new one, I think I got a pretty good deal! What do you think?

That CPU can drive a GTX1070 / 1660Super/Ti setup quite well (Ultraspec is where I aim for though, the PC/GPU setup is good enough,..ensuring GPU usages are highest, at High settings you could see dropped GPU usages in some titles like Assassins Creed Heavy CPU hitters and such open world titles) but the FPS metrics will still be stronger than the other GPU's here.

2400G vs say a i7 4790 (nonK, which I have at home as a testbench) and I've played with those systems and GTX1070's for months using many games to test and it's quite a brilliant combo. I'd say 90% of games are brilliant, the more recent examples of games still easily get 60fps, but problematic chasing 120fps from this CPU in heavy hitters.

Those CPU heavy games suffer a bit, but the FPS is STILL Up there even if a little bottlenecked.
