New setup - new monitor!

wittydavid

Hey guys, I've been researching, reading reviews etc. quite a while now trying to find myself a new monitor.

Decided to ask for advice here, looking for something with -

  • At the very least 100hz refresh rate - preferably more
  • 2560x1440 or 3440x1440 resolution
  • Great color monitor (to my understanding the best panels are either IPS or VA)
  • Response time as low as possible
  • size 27" and above
  • MUST have Adaptive-Sync

I have read the "G-Sync Compatible" Master Thread and also visited nvidia's website to review the G-sync compatibility table.
I'd like to know if there is noticeable difference between the "tiers" -

Regular freesync monitors

G-Sync Compatible

G-Sync Ultimate/premium with the G-Sync module (V1, V2 or V3)?

Edit: The monitor I found is the ASUS ROG SWIFT PG279QE - the thing is it's a 4 year old monitor and I'm certain i'm missing many great much newer monitors.

Edit 2:
This is most likely what my new setup will look like if it makes any difference.
