5700xt driver issues? Stuttering/sound issues in game

Yeah I see that now. So like I said in my edit above, I just tried a few versions of the software, they all have the same stuttering and sound issues (I maid sure to use DDU each time before installing the next version).

Do you have free-sync enabled?

Is your motherboard bios up to date?

You just seem to have a really random/strange issue that would be hard to pin down, it's likely something else if multiple driver installs are having issues.

So I basically just built a new PC, everything went well no issues there. My specs are:

Ryzen 3600x

ASUS ROG Strix B450-F

Power Color Red Devil 5700xt

2x8gb G.skill 3200mhz ram

Corsair CX650m

Acer 2560x1440@75hz monitor

Windows 10 64-bit

When I built the system I installed AMD's adrenaline software to make sure I had the latest graphics drivers and such, it updated, and everything was fine. The issue is I started by trying to play Civ VI which I already had installed on my drive, and the intro cut-scene ran like hot garbage. It had major stuttering and had all kinds of sounds issues (idk how to describe the sounds but it was super garbled and glitchy). Once I got to the menu I ran the in-game benchmark, and it ran flawlessly, pinned at 60fps. I thought it was weird so I tried running Rainbow Six Siege, and the same thing happened. Intro cut-scene and menu ran like garbage, same stuttering and sound issues. But once I loaded into a scenario the game ran great. 60fps, no stuttering or sound issues. I have literally no idea why menus and cut scenes would have issues but regular gameplay wouldn't. I can only assume its a driver issue with the 5700xt (I almost went Nvidia because of the driver issues I've heard people had, but decided not to)

Can anyone confirm this is in fact a driver related issue (or what else it could be?), and how the heck I would go about fixing it? The obvious choice would be to use DDU and roll back to and older driver, but I just wanted to get some opinions/other possible issues first before trying that.

*Note* I did try switching the BIOS on the GPU between Silent and OC, it had no affect.

So this is with a fresh install of windows?

Just use the DDU and try a different driver, probably 11.3

Yeah completely fresh install of windows, I will try DDU and new drivers. I also think I will just get rid of Adrenaline because it doesn't really seem that great.

That's just the name of the driver suite

Yeah I know, but do I need their software to install new drivers? I didn't think it was necessary, just more of a convenience.

Basically I am not sure how to install just the drivers without the Adrenaline software. Can't find it on AMD's website anywhere for my GPU, just the different versions of adrenaline (which I've tried versions 19.9.2 and 19.11.3), so far with no change.

It's an all in one package, all of the extra features like instant replay and GPU chill are nice though.

I've tried with freesync both on and off, have not checked motherboard bios version nor have I tried to update it. I'll have to check that tomorrow, I'll try and give an update then. Thanks for the help so far.

I updated the chipset driver from AMD's website, it had no affect. I did however follow @Streetguru's advice and I updated my bios to version 2901 (I don't recall exactly which version came installed on the motherboard), this seems to have completely fixed the problem. Thanks again for the advice, it's much appreciated. I've never had a bios cause issues like that in other PCs, but it seems to have been what was causing the issue here.

Edit: For those that would like to know, the Bios that came pre-installed on the motherboard that was giving me issues was version 2605

I have absolutely no idea why it might cause issues either.

Might have had trouble loading the info for the cut scenes for some reason which may have caused issues, but that's like storage related.
