Do I need to re buy windows

I am building a new pc and am only keeping the power supply and case from the old build. Do I need to reinstall and put in the same windows 10 code or do I need to buy it again

Simply just make a windows 10 installer USB, then when you reinstall windows it will prompt you for a serial number, simply put the one from your original windows product in, and it will transfer the license over.

 

If you don't have the key anymore, don't rebuy windows. You can find plenty of retailers that sell windows keys for like $10. Or just live with the watermark.

If you link the product key to your microsoft account, you should be able to log in with said account, verify its you in windows settings, and then re-activate the product key.

I still have the disc from when i built my old pc so that should work?

You'll spend less time creating a new USB stick because it will install with more or less current updates. Who knows how far back your old disc is... It might work yes, but if you have an 8gb or larger USB flash drive laying around there's no reason not to just create a new USB installer and save yourself time on the install.

You need the physical code usually on the disk packaging
