When I play games you can hear my psu through my headphones! I’m thinking of getting a Seasonic Focus Plus Gold 650w I have a EVGA 850w right now but here is a video.

That's called coil whine, you can't do anything about it I'm afraid.

WOW. That does not sound good at all. Seasonic is your best bet there. If your 850w evga would be evga G3, would not by it myself.

My dad is in SF right now he is grabing me a Seasonic because it’s the quality as I have heard and 650w is enough for my 3600x @ 4.3ghz 1.415v and my rtx 2080 no oc

450w psu's can handle rtx 2080ti and i9 9900ks just fine, so you can oc wiht your specs. And if you have dedicated gpu and you play games, why not to oc, since its very easy with msi afterburner.

...? How? What? Why?

What model is it? Brand has no recognition in the quality of a power supply. Even seasonic has problems with theirs.

which focus plus gold?

fx or gx?

avoid if its the fx. its the fx if it isnt specified otherwise. and there are a lot of other options outside of seasonic that are great.

I bet it's EVGA N\W. People keep buying PSUs on change and expect them to be good.

Chances are you'll get even worse problems, with 80% it would be older Seasonic Focus revision which wouldn't work stable with GPU this power hungry.

If this EVGA PSU isn't EVGA B\G series then yeah, get a new one, Enermax Revolution DF 650W costs just 80$ and it's top tier PSU for this money, or Corsair RMx 550W\650W if you can get it for maybe 5$ more. But if it is B\G series then RMA it, no need to buy one if it works. How old it is, and what morel anyway ?

I would take that bet since there aren't any 850W variants for the EVGA N1, W1, or W2.

Oh snap :) Well, it's not that bad then, all 850W EVGA's are independent regulation at least, maybe it's G3 then, i think i've heard some reports of it whining with some GPUs.

It’s a g3 I’m pretty sure

Sure it's not the card or some other hardware? I've had the 550W and 650W G3, still have my 1000W G3, never had issues with any of them. I have had coil whine from my GPUs though, and the Radeon VII I have makes a buzz under max load (can hear it better since it's on water and has no fan noise to drown that out).

Also like @Slottr said, you can just RMA it. EVGA's warranties and service are usually extremely good, often best-in-class.

Always try googling your motherboard and looking at the spec sheet and manual - OEMs keep those up for a reason - and maybe you'll learn something 🤔

i7 5820K - NH-U9DXi4 - 4.2Ghz/3.4Ghz, 1.2v/1.05v (core/uncore) - 1.9v input voltage  - EVGA X99 Micro2 - 16GB (4x4GB) EVGA SuperSC DDR4 - ~2667Mhz CL16 - EVGA XC Ultra 1660 Ti - 250GB 960 Evo - 1TB WD Blue - 120GB HyperX Fury SSD - 1TB Seagate Barracuda Pro Compute 2.5" HDD - 2TB Seagate FireCuda 2.5" SSHD - Corsair CX550 (2017) - Fractal Design Meshify C Mini - 2 stock fans front, random corsair fan rear, all 120mm LG 25UM56-P - 25" 2560x1080 at 75Hz

Current GPU collection:
Radeon VII - 1660 Ti - 2x GTX 780s - 1050 Ti - 1050 - 660

GPUs I've had if you wanna say I don't understand both sides:
1050/1050 Ti (yes I've had multiple of these) - RX 570 - RX 480 - Vega FE - 2x GTX 1080s - 1080 Ti - 2 different 980 Tis

Yep. EVGA is seriously some of the greatest customer support I've had the opportunity to speak with ever. Never had an issue with their power supplies however. (I've personally purchased 2 of their power supplies and 2 of my friends each got one as well. No complaints from them either.)

RMA will be your best bet, maybe you'll even get an upgraded PSU in the process but don't get your hopes up.

FullSizeRender.mov

I'd suggest checking if it's the PSU or the GPU, as coil whine is more likely generated from the GPU card.
