Help! One PC on network has no internet.

Linkingdots

Hi everyone! I just installed an additional switch to my network and now my PC is connected but has no internet, I've done the dns dump and IP config through CMD which cleared up the problem once but when I reset the PC no internet again even with doing the same steps.

Current set up:

Router -> 1st switch -> 2nd switch -> PC

The 1st Switch has a Google Wifi, Steam Link and 2 connections to other rooms in the house.

Before the 2nd Switch was installed 1 of the room connections was straight into a PC, however due to an additional PC in the room a switch was introduced. The new PC has no problems connecting to the internet, however the original PC started developing problems. I've tried switching the cables around, updating the network driver, CMD DNS reset and IP config reset to no different result. Followed all the google search results and here I am now begging for help.

Thanks in advance guys!

Does your router have more than 1 port? Can you see what happens if you bypass the 1st switch and :

Router port 1 -> switch 1

Router port 2 -> switch 2?

What switches are you using?

The router has more than 1 port however my ISP has blocked the other ports. Switch 1 is a D-Link DGS-1008D, Switch 2 is a Mercury switch (chinese make, works well and my 2nd pc is getting internet without issues). The PC with the problem is running windows 7. But before this it was working fine.

Open up command prompt or powershell and type in "ipconfig /all" on both computers. List the info here. (mainly the ethernet adapter info... no need for the windows ip config)

Edit: NVM didnt see you posted both in your last response. Reading now.

I'm not too sure if you somehow manually entered the ipv6 default gateway. But the last 2 digits for each computer... 1 is "14" and the other is "41" so I'm not sure if that was a mistake. The other thing is if you look at the subnet mask, it's different between the 2 computers. The DHCP server is the same... they both have unique IP addresses and look to both be connected to Windscribes VPN.

One thing I would try if possible is disconnecting from the Windscribe VPN and see if it works first. SInce that's another variable in this network. @Linkingdots

Otherwise, @Lurick is an actual network nerd so maybe he can see the issue straight away.

Thanks @NinJake. I didn't manually key in anything but I'll try disabling ipv6 i guess. It's 1am where I'm at, so I'll probably call it a night. Hopefully @Lurick picks this up and is able to help.

I'm assuming the issue is somehow related to the switch to switch config???

Your second switch (Mercury Switch) might be a managed switch that has some settings to do something.

Did you bought it used? try checking if there is anything on the switch and on the packaging that says if it is managed and please share the model number/name
