Pretty smart. At least this way it's somewhat legitimized.

Ignoring the scam vs not debate and just focusing on the device, I see a few good and bad things.  The good is obviously the price, this is better than a lot of normal phones, never mind the folding ones that always seem to be $1k - $2k.  If this does turn out to be a real product, it's going to be a much appreciated and powerful dagger through the heart of any support for these other insanely priced devices.  However, one obvious downside is it appears that the fold has such a huge radius that it's effectively useless.  It doesn't fold flat, just sort of into a vastly more awkward shape than a flat slab would have otherwise been even without this feature.

That's completely irrelevant, making something socially and legally unacceptable undeniably lowers its occurrence. You cannot argue with a straight face that making, for example, child porn legal wouldn't lead to an increase in the creation and consumption of child porn which would inevitably lead to more child abuse even just in the creation process. Censoring, banning and deplatforming works, to the point where people who are censored or deplatformed incessantly protest. Whether a given censoring or deplatforming action is acceptable within the realm of human rights depends on the specific instance, but you cannot argue that it doesn't work.

That's a load of bullshit my dude, just because you can't feasibly eradicate all forms of discrimination doesn't mean you shouldn't fight it to the best of your ability, or that your efforts have no tangible positive effect.

Cutting out the networks sounds like it would save a lot of money.  One of the most expensive parts of the business is making deals with various local networks, so that the phone part of the phone actually works.  Enjoy using a phone that only works in wifi.

That's a load of bullshit my dude, just because you can't feasibly eradicate all forms of discrimination doesn't mean you shouldn't fight it to the best of your ability, or that your efforts have no tangible positive effect.

As already sayed the point of view of bad/nice is purely subjective (in certain context);

However you're right making something socially unacceptable is a good way to reduce certain behaviours.

Anyway that comment was morelike an attack aganist the point of view of the guy that I replied, even if for example drawers in an anime studio are usually underpayed I couldn't say that kizumonogatari (actually I don't know if the workers are underpayed or not, just taking it as example) it's a bad work just because of that;
