Which Replacement Case Fans to Choose?

bn.hall97

Hi

I need to replace case fans as some are now broken. I had been using the Cooler Master fnas that came with the case (2x120 front, 1x120 rear exhaust). I don't have a problem with temperatures, but it would be nice if I could reduce noise a little bit.

My question is which fans should I look at? Consensus seems to be Noctua are the best, but I'm a little confused as to the different models.

System:

  • CPU: Ryzen 2700
  • MB: B450 Tomahawk
  • Case: CM Master Box 5

I'm based in the UK.

Thanks

I have recently converted to these fans for my rads: https://www.arctic.ac/worldwide_en/bionix-p120.html with these: https://www.arctic.ac/worldwide_en/bionix-f120.html being the airflow variant. I've been running them for the past 5 months 24/7 and have been happy with them. They will run right down to 200 rpm and have a 0 rpm feature as well. They have smaller motors and support arms for better air flow. Also their blades can be popped off for easy cleaning.

With all that being said I've never owned a Noctua fan so I can't give you any sort of comparison.

How are the fans broken?

If the case is under warranty, you can probably contact Cooler Master for replacements.

You could look at the specs when buying a specific fan set as they usually tell you what the max airflow (I think it's called cfm) is
