Overcharge protection?

I have been looking at phones recently and one of the most interesting thing i want to know, does phones fully break the charge when they are full?

For example i looked Realme 5s has "Overcharge Protection" labeled in the website overview, and i am very assured flagships have this thing and they didn't even advertise this. From there I was researching it until now, and i need your help to answer...

Thanks peple

"Make it future proof for some years at least, don't buy "only slightly better" stuff that gets outdated 1 year, that's throwing money away" @pipoawas

-Frequencies DON'T represent everything and in many cases that is true (referring to Individual CPU Clocks).

Mention me if you want to summon me sooner or later

Spoiler

My head on 2019 :

Note 10, S10, Samsung becomes Apple, Zen 2, 3700X, Renegade X lol

Most, if not all phones have this. However. Its good practice to not let your phone charge overnight, Or let it charge past 90 really. You'll get more battery life.

When battery is full, trickle charging is method is used. That overcharge protection does sound like a marketing bullshit. You can read more about charging here

Pretty much every modern battery powered device has this. I don't think the average person cares and/or knows what it is, so companies generally don't advertise it.

I think its one of those things were one company advertises something in the hopes of confusing consumers by making it appear as if they're the only ones that have it or as if that was something special.
