the MX250 is infiriour to the 1650 max q definitly.

but you can check some reviews and fps comparisons on the performance on thoose two, maybe the mx250 can run Minecraft very well and the 1650 would be a waste of money.

or maybe it can't run it well and the 1650 would be needed for proper mining

I forgot to mention they are the same price.

then i'd pick the 1650 (unless it looks ugly) since it's a lot better.

Yeah it’s 15 inch and th acer 14 so both pro and a con. And design wise I like them both but the acer is lighter and idk which design I like more it’s really annoying

but the processor difference isn’t that much right? In like programming premiere pro and some gaming?

i'd say so. but i'm not an expert so my word on that should be taken with a grain of salt

I agree with @flashiling that you should go with the laptop that has the 1650 since it is a much more powerful GPU.

Workstation:

Intel Core i7 6700K | AMD Radeon R9 390X | 16 GB RAM

Mobile Workstation:

MacBook Pro 15" (2017) | Intel Core i7 7820HQ | AMD Radeon Pro 560 | 16 GB RAM

Yes, there is a HUGE performance difference. Take a look at @flashiling's post above with a link to the benchmarks.

If you are playing Minecraft only, then sure, the MX250 will be OK, but if you want to play anything more intensive (at all) then I would go for the laptop with the 1650. In the CPU department, they should both be fine for programming and compiling won't be too painful, but keep in mind that they are both laptop CPUs so don't expect to compile an entire web browser (Firefox for example) in a few seconds.

Another benefit of the machine with the 1650 is that it has upgradable RAM and expandable storage so if you need more space you can easily install a 2.5" SATA SSD or HDD.
