Can't find the fanspeed settings in the bios

Hello guys, I hope you can help me out. So I got a NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1060 with one fan (think this is the "slim" version). I want to turn down the fanspeed of it in the bios but I can't find the settings to do it.

(It's a prebuild pc and one year old)

-Look at the attachments to see my bios

Check the "SMART Settings" menu.

 

Also, you can't control the fan speed/curve on the GTX 1060 in the motherboard BIOS -- BIOS only controls CPU / case fans.

You need to use a separate software in the OS (e.g. Windows) to control the GTX 1060 fan speed -- MSi AfterBurner, or EVGA PrescisionX...just to name a few.

The fan curve of a video card is not controlled by the motherboard.

Install MSI Afterburner or EVGA PrecisionX to control GPU fan speed.

You need something like MSI Afterburner (software on Windows), there's no setting for this in the BIOS.

Referring to the screenshot @Constantin gave, you basically click on the chart to add a spot on the graph, and you drag and drop at the set temperatures / fan speeds you want. Where you want the fan speed to be at which temperature will vary...depending on:

  • Your own personal temperature or noise preference
  • The design of the graphics card cooler (e.g. different fan curve for ASUS STriX GTX 1060 vs MSi Gaming GTX 1060)
  • The GPU itself (e.g. GTX 1060 vs GTX 1070)
  • Computer case airflow / fan configuration
  • etc..
