CPU and budget motherboard suggestion

Recommended Posts

Posted · Original PosterOP

For the CPU I can either get r5 3500 for 11.5k INR or 160$

Or

The r5 2600 for 13.5k or around 200$.

I don't am not sure about the motherboard though. You can see the motherboard I have used in the build I put together on Amazon for India.

I want 4 ram slots, with somewhat overclocking capability , and alternative for wifi and Bluetooth support.

Budget for mobo comes around 100$ or 7k INR.

Any other suggestions are welcomed.

My overall budget(PC,monitor, peripherals) is of about 55k inr or 760$ but I can stretch it like a tiny bit here and there I think.

Tell me about my config.

So, if you are gaming, DO NOT USE VS SERIES PSU. They are for workstation purpose and usually not preferred for gaming. I prefer CX series. Yes, they will be a little costly (1-2K INR More).

Next for the Motherboard, I personally prefer Gigabyte Aorus B450 M. Its nearly 8K but has way better overclocking capabilities than the Ds3h.

So then I would go with R5 3500...to cut the prices I guess..because fitting all that would be TOUGH.

Sure. Keep in mind, if your Motherboard and psu are of good quality from start, you can easily upgrade the cpu,gpu later with no worries.

What if r5 2600 is like 2k INR more than R5 3500.

Then is it good to directly go with R5 2600?

Get 3600 from aliexpress for 165 eur

I'd be careful about anything from a direct from China site like AliExpress. You never know about that kind of stuff, it's either really good or breaks immediately. That's the thing.

Trust me buddy, I've recently build my rig and I also looked for those motherboards, they are not to be used with the CPU and GPU you are going with. The VRMs are not at all cooled, I highly doubt for any potential to upgrade later also!!

I say it again, NEVER EVER CHEAP OUT ON PSU AND MOTHERBOARD!!  ;)

As for the R5 2600 you asked, it is a real good CPU and has 2 extra cores than 3500, but I think a quad core CPU is enough for gaming. Moreover the 3000 series CPU have better design and work cooler under load.

Its better to go with the latest for your new build (In my opinion)
