Is there any way a case could cause a system to not post?

I was putting together a system with used parts i had lying around and i got everything hooked up right and I get no post, fans and lights on but no signal to monitor.

So I tried different ram and same results,I then swapped out the board with one that happened to have a matching CPU, still the same.

I tried a 3rd board with one of the CPU's and still the same.

I also tried 3 different PSU's and again the same, I also tested those same PSU's in a known working system and they all work.

Before I go tearing down a perfectly working system to test 3 possible dead boards, I would like to know if there is a chance that maybe it is the case?

Maybe it is grounding in some way?

Should I try another case first? Or test the boards in the known working system first?

Should always test components outside the case.. much easier to narrow down and swap out things this way.

I actually had a grounding problem whenever I built my pc. Mine still booted but was grounding a usb slot. Case was made badly. Luckly I fixed it by placing a washer to move the side panel a bit. Are all your screws in? take off all the side panels and try.

I have tried 2 of the boards outside the case and so far nothing... What are the chances of 3 boards dying for no reason?

Because i tested them 2 months ago and they were all working, i just could not use them yet because i was packing up for a move...

Since the i5 2500 has an iGPU, have you tried with the motherboard output instead of a dedicated GPU? I presume you're using a dedicated GPU, though you dont have it mentioned exactly how your testing post/video.

Well the parts i am working with for this is going to end up being a home server, but it is AMD.

The 2 cpu's i have tried are Phenom II X4 925.

The GPU is an old GTS 450.

The boards are the following:

MSI 970A-G46

Biostar TA790GX A3+

Gigabyte  GA-78LMT-S2P

So far i checked the MSI and Gigabyte in and out of the case, and on the Gigabyte i did try with the GPU and with onboard...

I am about to try and check the last board outside of the case, i will post back how it goes...

Last board checked out of case and with the onboard and still no post...

I'm gonna be the silly guy and point out that the only part that seems to be the constant here is the display. I haven't seen mention of trying a different display. Does the display show it's own menu when you hit the menu button? does it show a signal error when you boot the systems in question?

The display worked fine when i used to to test another know working system, and it worked fine.
