The first number in the 4 numeric section of the SKU is the generation of the chip. Ryzen didn't get mobile chips until gen 2, and mobile chips are one uArch behind their desktop counterparts. Same thing as what Intel used to do with HEDT.

well i have no clue what hedt is, but heck its in the marketing literature and i want it! lol

i never pay any attention to internals of laptops i am a desktop guy

HEDT stands for High End DeskTop, which would be Threadripper and Intel X79/99/299.

i know but its only there 2nd gen mobile chips lol

 

hence my original statement

 

look at topic title its clickybait doesnt state mobile or the fact its 2 chips being compared

its one gen vs another gen

still how ever you look at it, i know its their 2nd gen of mobile chips they are delayed

 

its 1 cpu vs another

 

title states  gen vs gen which isnt even what is going on here

I've got a 3500U and while I should have gotten a 3700U it performs very well.
