Aio Vs Wraith Prism

Larry85

Hello All

I was hoping for some advice. i upgraded to a 3800x ( love it) with Black Friday coming the H100i is 129.99. i run the amd overclocking to 4.3 but the fans run at 100% and are kinda noisy. My question is will i see a benift for noise and temps with the h100i? What do you guys think? i'm running the cooler master h500 case with the plan to run as a top exhaust. Iv heard that the AIO coolers are not a quiet as other air coolers but air is big bulky and ugly. What would you do? Below is the cooler.

From some reviews that I know the H100i v2 is kinda loud so maybe H115 or change the fans if you think it's loud.....

Yes, it'll be quieter than the Wraith Prism but there are quieter options available.

If you want the AIO aesthetic and rgb, I recommend spending a bit more for the larger H15i RGB Platinum: https://pcpartpicker.com/product/vTTPxr/corsair-h115i-rgb-platinum-970-cfm-liquid-cpu-cooler-cw-9060038-ww

If you don't need the lighting, you can save a bit of money with a cheaper 280mm like the Liquid Freezer II 280 or H115i Pro if you prefer that cpu block aesthetic.

If i do a 280mm it would have to go behind my fans in the front. with a push pull config. I cant seem to find anything online so i can see what it looks like.

Why not just mount it at the top?

Some examples here: https://pcpartpicker.com/builds/by_part/JGjJ7P#h=440,640,703,579

Now i feel dumb. I have a 140mm as a top exhaust. according to the website it says only a 240mm with fit But there are holes for two 140mm=280mm radiator. That makes more sense since its a larger cooler for only a couple bucks more. Thanks for your help. I appreciate it.

Update 11/27/19

I received my h115i and  started to install and noticed just bc there are 2 spots for 140mm fans the radiator will not fit on my coolermaster h500. The fans will hit the motherboard (x570). The 280mm h115 is really nice and decided that i wanted to keep it.I struggled to hold the pump and install the radiator at the same time. But after some fiddling i was able to install in the front with a push pull config. Running cinabench r15 at 4.3mhz cpu temps hit 76.3C with stock cooler running the fan at 100% After installing the H115i the max temp i reached was 64.8C. The sound level was decreased dramatically with only slight water noise from the pump. Overall i am very satisfied. Again thanks for everyones help.
