Black Friday AMD CPUs

Draxexo

Hey folks, i was wondering, since 3rd gen ryzen recently came out, will 2nd gen get a hefty price drop this black friday? I was thinking of purchasing the R7 2700 since it fits into my budget.

No, we're in a rather unique market. I wouldn't expect any further price drop though.

Ryzen 2000 has already gotten a pretty big price cut. Taking a wild guess, you might see the 2600X price dip some (its a bit high now)---having said that very little reason to buy that CPU, if you want cheap, get the 2600, if you want speed, get the 3600. Others in the lineup are already at a very compelling price point. Having said that, you never know. I am sure some retailers with a large stock may be looking to clear out old products going into 2020.

Are you in the US?
The 2700 will drop to $159. 2700x $169. With the possibility of it dropping lower with another retailer (this is NewEgg).

Last black Friday there were steep motherboard/CPU discounts on Ryzen 1000.

Newegg had Gigabyte X370 and Ryzen 7 1700 and Ryzen 5 1600 combos for $149. I missed the 1700 sale but picked up the 1600.

I expect similar for the 2000 series.

Currently, the Ryzen 5 2600 is $117 and the Ryzen 7 2700 is $159. Adding another $50 for a lower end B450 or X470 wouldn't be very far off the mark at all.

My prediction is $179 2700/b450 combos and $149 2600/b450 combos.

2018 Black Friday was on November 23rd.

This Keepa graph shows that Amazon dropped R7 2700 price from

$265.99 to $249.99 on November 20th, 3 days prior to Black Friday.

There is a good chance it will do same on this Black Friday based

on historical data.

In the UK

Black friday here isn't as prominent, except for online.
