Posted November 20 · Original PosterOP I want to get a new graphics card for either Black Friday, Cyber Monday, or Christmas, and I was thinking about getting the Asus Strix GTX 1060.https://www.amazon.com/Asus-STRIX-GTX1060-A6G-GAMING-ASUS-Graphic-Cards/dp/B07GRSHW97/ref=sr_1_12?keywords=geforce+gtx+1060ti&qid=1569548892&sr=8-12 Now since I don't know all that much about GPUs, are there better ones around this price point or cheaper? Is the GTX 1060 even worth it nowadays? Any other choices that you guys recommend? Are there cheaper more powerful cards available? Thank you!
Posted November 20 Tf....$260 for 1060 6GB. You might as well go with 1660TI. Same price but better performance.
Posted November 20 The 1660 super would be a much better option at that price point.
Posted November 20 Since the 1060 is last gen, the prices are all wrong. $200 gets you a 1070 from eBay, and the $260 can get you a nice 1660 super model. I WILL find your ITX build thread, and I WILL recommend the SIlverstone Sugo SG13B Primary PC: i7 8086k (won) - EVGA Z370 Classified K - G.Kill Trident Z RGB - Force MP500 - Jedi Order Titan Xp - The venerated Hyper 212 Evo (with RGB Riing flair) - EVGA G2 650W - Black and green theme, Razer branwashed me. Draws 400 watts under max load, for reference. Linux Proliant ML150 G6: Dual Xeon X5560 - 24GB ECC DDR3 - GTX 750 TI - old Seagate 1.5TB HDD - Dark moded Ubuntu (and Win7, cuz why not) EVGA G3 thread, BR/BT thread, Seasonic Focus thread, S12II/M12II thread, Userbenchmark (Et al.) is trash explained, PSU misconceptions
Posted November 20 Do not buy a 1060, I have a 6gb one and it's already bad for 1080p gaming in new titles.
