Which CPU cooler for my build?

3 minutes ago, iiNNeX said:

Good tips, will do that thanks!

One thing I just noticed, looking at some of the installation picture in the DR4 manual, the fan still hangs over the ram?

I can't find any "ram clearance" info on their website, because if I have to move the fan up then I might as well go with the DRP4?

https://www.bequiet.com/en/cpucooler/1376   manual and datasheet are there.

The Dark Rock 4 will only have the fan overhang a bit on RAM slot 1 (and you will be using slots 2 and 4 with 2 sticks).

This a little 'visualization' I quickly made for the board and cooler:

As you can see,the fan would overhang the first slot a bit.

I have already purchased everything bar the CPU cooler. I was originally planning on going with the D15S however it just doesn't look right. The entire system is mainly black/grey/silver with subtle RGB, so I want to keep the theme going. The only other cooler I can think of is the beQuiet Dark Rock 4 or the Pro version.

Do you think those will clear the RAM, as it is quite tall (45mm I believe) ?

Thank you

Hello,

No problem with the Dark Rock 4 for ram clearance and to cool the 3600 anyway. Also if you don't overclock, you can use the included CPU cooler, I think it's grey too ?

I would probably go for the Dark Rock 4 non Pro.

Last weekend I built a 3600X system with a DRP4, which was kind of a pain to install. It did fit with the TridentZ memory in the system, which is 4 mm lower in height than the memory in your system. I did have to move the fan up for the Pro 4 a bit.

Myself I have a 1700 on a Dark Rock 3 (non Pro) and it has always worked out well for me.

It will be overclocked so no stock cooler :)

Yeah I am thinking of DR4 as well, the Pro's fan will get in the way of this ram for sure.

Thank you I will get ordering! :)

The Dark Rock 3 I have on my system was pretty easy to install, the DRP4 was... Quite annoying to install, to say the least :^)

Just make sure you install the RAM and M.2 (if applicable) before installing the cooler. When placing the motherboard into the system it's probably best to already connect everything you need to in the top/top-left of the board (e.g. 8 pin EPS, fan connectors, etc.)\

I spent way too much time on that... But with the non-Pro variant it's not as important.
