Should I Take Ryzen 5 2600 Instead of Ryzen 5 3600 for More Memory?

Go to solution Solved by Pixel5,

if DCS is the main thing you play and you want to play online with more than 5 players constantly you will absolutely need 32GB of ram as the game is extremely poorly optimized.

in every other case 16GB are more than enough and you should go for the better CPU, its about 8% faster depending on your workload

Hi,

I wanted a system with Ryzen 5 3600, RT 2060 and 16GB of RAM first

but I learned that some games like DCS (Digital Combat Simulator) require

16GB at least in normal missions and 32GB of RAM in heavy missions.

Should I free some of my budget in favor of additional 16GB of RAM and

compromise on CPU and take Ryzen 5 2600 instead? If I am not mistaken

there is little difference between those CPUs and I heard that Ryzen 5 2600

has another 3 years of future proofing.

Anyone ever played DCS with 16GB of RAM and can chime in on their

experience?

Thanks.

DCS is critical when it comes to RAM. Especially when playing with Manny people. BBBUT Idd still get the faster CPU and a 2x8GB RAM kit. Later on you can upgrade with another 2x8GB kit
