RTX 2060 Underperforming

Noforus

So i recently sold my 1060 6GB and got a Asus TUF 2060 OC

And i installed it and when i run cinebench, it performs worse than my 1060

and only scores like 90 on the OpenGL test. I also played cs go and only got like 100-200 fps

while my 1060 can reach 180-300

heres my specs:

Ryzen 5 1600

Asus Tuf RTX 2060

16GB 8x2 3200mhz

1TB HDD

120GB SSD

500W FSP HEXA+

Asrock AB350M-HDV

Update:

sometimes the screen likes to turn off and turn on by itself,

maybe i installed it wrong??

Did you reinstall windows? It's best to keep it on a small 120-150GB partition so it's easy to reinstall it.

I edit my posts a lot, Twitter is @LordStreetguru just don't ask PC questions there mostly...

Spoiler

What is your budget/country for your new PC?

what monitor resolution/refresh rate?

What games or other software do you need to run?

Did your settings change? This is the most likely scenario.

What is your load and thermals looking like when in game on the 2060?

ask me about my homelab

on a personal quest convincing the general public to return to the glory that is 12" laptops.

cheap and easy cable management is my fetish.

I think i found out that its the temps, i play assetto and its reaching max of 85 celcius

and sometimes when i play fivem/gta 5 when i play for like 20 minutes pc will shut down itself maybe bcuz of the temps???

The fact that the GPU is slammed up against the bottom of the case doesn't do it any favors. I realize that this is the way the board is designed as well as the case but you might as well be trying to breathe through a pillow. Looks like the PSU has most of the grill that air might get through blocked so you are kinda screwed.

Will opening my case improve temps??

Sorry it took me so long to respond... Thanksgiving and all... I don't know. Leaving the case open will help to some degree but probably not the GPU. The logic of air flow requires the case to be closed to get directed air through everything. With the door off, you don't get positive flow on anything and the hot air isn't forcibly expelled. If you are having GPU heating issues, removing the door isn't going to create any benefit. I don't understand why cases are designed so that a GPU has no room to breathe. I purchased a larger case to make sure that the GPU cage had more room around it. Though this may not be an option for you.
