PC Build idea

Mayo

I want a PC for gaming and maybe sometimes for streaming. I plan on playing rainbow, forntie, csgo, rocket league, and modern warfare. I prefer intel over AMD. My budget is around $1,600-$1,700 USD. I also need the monitor, keyboard, and mouse included in that budget.

Honestly I don’t know. I have friends who have PCs and they told me to get intel over AMD. But then again I don’t know about PCs

I WILL find your ITX build thread, and I WILL recommend the SIlverstone Sugo SG13B

Primary PC:

i7 8086k - EVGA Z370 Classified K - G.Skill Trident Z RGB - WD SN750 - Jedi Order Titan Xp - Hyper 212 Black (with RGB Riing flair) - EVGA G3 650W - dual booting Windows 10 and Linux - Black and green theme, Razer brainwashed me.

Draws 400 watts under max load, for reference.

How many watts do I needATX 3.0 & PCIe 5.0 spec, PSU misconceptions, protections explainedgroup reg is bad

ditch intel and go with amd 2600 cpu then spend more money on other things like a good mobo $150-$200 mobo, 3600 2x8gb ram, 500W psu, then dump lots of money into the gpu

What kind of games?

It's only around $1100 for an R7 2700/3700X + RX 5700

I edit my posts a lot, Twitter is @LordStreetguru just don't ask PC questions there mostly...

Spoiler

What is your budget/country for your new PC?

what monitor resolution/refresh rate?

What games or other software do you need to run?

This looks good, although I'd recommend a Phison E12 drive for 10$ more, instead of a SM2263XT or whatever that is. He could honestly step up to a 2070S (CUDA), or get a half-decent CPU cooler (such as a Fuma 2) instead of the crappy stock AMD cooler (yes, the and cooler is better than an intel cooler, no, its not better than a 2 heatpipe 80mm tower cooler (deepcool gammax 200t).

For peripherals, OP: I'd recommend you go into an actual store and try them out, else, I like corsair, so a Corsair K70 and M65/M55 are good choices. Logitech makes nice mice, but bad keyboards imo. Steelseries makes good headsets and mice, not sure about keyboards. Stay away from Razer tho.

Zen 2 is better than zen 1 at this point for the money.

OP, what resolution and refresh rate are you looking to game at?

$80 difference from what I can tell but its all use case scenerios and how much cash one is willing to spend.

i like to save money! save money where you can and spend more money where is needed. but 1500ish i guess the 3600 will do ;)

I’m assuming 144Hz and I’m not sure about resolution. Again I’m a total noob when it comes to PCs ?

I'll go with a part by part breakdown and explanation why.

Ryzen 5 3600 - best 200$ processor, 6c12t, and good out of the box.

Thermalright Macho - one of the best CPU coolers at the 50$ price point. Very quiet, and good performance.

X570 Steel legend. The ASUS X570-P has like 0 features, albeit a decent VRM. This also has a usable VRM, but has more other features. Buildzoid says its decent.

Ram - it works I guess. Fast too with XMP

SSD - TLC SM2263 Drive with dram and a heatsink. It's a SX8200 Pro with a heatsink, and comes in at the same prices as competing Phison E12 drives but with a heatsink. 1TB should be more than enough for 5-10 large games and files. You can always get another drive.

2070 Armor - great value at 425$. Basically a free upgrade from 2060 super. CUDA gives you better support for tensor flow, and you get the Nvidia NVENC encoder. In general more features than a 5700XT. in addition, it has a good cooler.

Meshify C - Great case, good airflow, compact, good build quality. Glass too

PSU - 80+ gold, it works

Monitor - 1440p 144hz is best combo of refresh rate and sharpness. VA is just as good as IPS imo.

Keyboard - K70 is all metal, and its rgb, and it comes with a cool metal volume knob. Good keyboard. I like MX reds/linear switches

Mouse - Good all-rounder mouse, and its cheap.

@Mayo if you have any questions, just ask me.

At this point it doesn’t really matter, but the 2070 super was a graphics card I was aiming for.

For fps games just get a 1080p 240hz display

3700X is just a better value than the 9900K

Can buy the CPU cooler, and 2TB hard drive later.

The RX 5700/XT has 80-90 of the 2070 super's performance at a lower price, and will work fine for 1080p/1440p gaming.
