Do I need a sound card for ASUS ROG Delta USB C headset?

Do I need a sound card to take full advantage of this headset or is onboard audio good enough? If I am going to get a sound card I am thinking of getting the EVGA NU Audio sound card

this is a usb headset...you dont need a sound card

besides onboard audio is fine now a days

Any USB audio device has its own sound processing hardware built in.  You can use a USB headset on a PC with no audio device installed and it will work fine.

Is there any advantage to getting the analog version of the headset and using a sound card like the EVGA NU Audio sound card?

No the headset isn't really that good and doesn't warrant any other hardware your better off getting the usb c. But if you want something good. Look into other options in the non gaming space such as beyerdynamic, Sennheiser and many others.

I mostly play open world games like Watch Dogs 2 and Ghost Recon Wildlands. And I play simulator games like X Plane 11, PC Building Simulator, Cooking Simulator and Tech Support Error Unknown. I am planning on getting Watch Dogs Legion and maybe Ghost Recon Breakpoint this Christmas and Microsoft Flight Simulator when it comes out next year. I listen to music on Itunes because I have an Apple Music subscription.

what type of music?

to start we can start looking at the he 4xx, hd 58x , dt 770, 880, and the MMX 300. 

how noisey is your environment? if it's quite how do you feel about open back headphones?

I mostly listen to pop, easy listening, 80s and 90s music. What’s the difference between open and closed back headphones? My environment is not very noisy.

an open back will let sound out and in to your headphones resulting in a more natural sound and more often than not a wider soundstage which is beneficial for gaming. 

from your music tastes I would point you towards a sennheiser HD 58x, akg k371, and the dt 880

Can you recommend some closed back headphones because while my environment is not that noisy I do not want my family to have to listen to whatever I am listening to so, I need headphones that will not let the audio leak out.

Akg k371, DT 770, beyerdynamic custom one studio, ONE MORE triple driver over ear but given your music taste I would reccomend the akg k371

What is important to me is comfort and sound quality. What is the absolute best closed back headphones for comfort and audio quality based on the games I play and the music I listen to?

Well it's all preference. These are a semi closed back but argon mk3 I would say are one of the best but requires a it of power to run a fiio k5 pro should be able to power it.

Also Sony mdr1A. Pretty decent too. There is no such thing as absolute best. Everyone hears things differently. And what people think is best depends on them.

Not that power hungry when I was testing it required less power than my 250 ohm 990 to run loud . He said he wanted the best so I gave him imo one of the best closed backs under $300. I will say not much can run it properly but a lot of things can run it loud
