Gaming PC Help Please

Yaszho

I'm not one to ask for handouts ever, but I used to build my own PC's. I find myself with (seriously hate pity but) my hands trembling a lot - PTSD etc Disabled Veteran now. I wrote an email to Linus on YouTube but no response. I have physical and Mental issues as a result of my Military recent past, and find myself unable to build my own PC anymore. My question is can anyone recommend an enthusiast pc builder or willing to help me, I'll pay of course -I'm just a SGT so not rich at all but willing to spend for future proofing and my eyesight getting worse. I'm home now  disabled vet please, I feel almost embarrassed because I never ask for help but I'm foggy headed and shaky hands now. I have zero confidence in not messing up a build now, and I've been out of the game for a while, out of country. Please have a heart and point me in the right direction, or if you know anyone willing to put a rig together for me (I'll pay naturally).

Should I wait on 7nm I've heard of or no. My current rig can't run Division 1 properly. Please seriously of there's a kind soul out there PM me! Thank you

>** Games or programs you will be using.**

Triple A titles, MMORPG's, The Witcher 3, Cyberpunk 2077, RDR2, The Division 1 and 2, Kingdom Come Deliverance, EVE, War Thunder, etc

>**What is your maximum budget before rebates/shipping/taxes?**

Absolute Maximum budget is 4k US, but the cheaper the better, it's my passion and main thing that brings me any happiness.

>**When do you plan on building/buying the PC?** I would like the best deal/system so I'm willing to wait if need be, but obviously the sooner I can game the better.

>**What, exactly, do you need included in the budget? (Tower/OS/monitor/keyboard/mouse/etc\)**  GTX 2080Ti, best gaming CPU that definitely won't bottleneck GPU. Both with AIO water coolers and OC'd max stable and cool.Tower, PSU, 1440p monitor 144hz or more gaming wide monitor with g-sync ultra wide maybe, the bigger the better eyes not so good anymore. Great Picture quality too please.

>**Which country (and state/province) will you be purchasing the parts in? If you're in US, do you have access to a Microcenter location?** I live in upstate NY, USA and have no idea of a micro center, always bought my stuff on Newegg before.

>**If reusing any parts (including monitor(s)/keyboard/mouse/etc), what parts will you be reusing? Brands and models are appreciated.** I have an ok mouse and keyboard, shitty 21" 1680/1050 monitor. 2.5" Samsung EVO Pro SSD's 500Gb and 1Tb

 >**Will you be overclocking? If yes, are you interested in overclocking right away, or down the line? CPU and/or GPU?**  I definitely want to OC from the start, also very interested in Lapping and Delidding!

>**Are there any specific features or items you want/need in the build? (ex: SSD, large amount of storage or a RAID setup, CUDA or OpenCL support, etc)**

M.2 fast 1Tb, I have other SSD's I can use for extra storage.

>**Do you have any specific case preferences (Size like ITX/microATX/mid-tower/full-tower, styles, colors, window or not, LED lighting, etc), or a particular color theme preference for the components?**

Only care about performance, so whatever works best.

>**Do you need a copy of Windows included in the budget? If you do need one included, do you have a preference?** Newest windows 10, I'll make it look like windows XP for gaming specific rig if that still is a thing that works.

>**Extra info or particulars:**

Really want lapping and delidding, AIO cooling on everything possible, and great airflow. OC to max stable with good temps. Thank you very much for your time and consideration.

I mean if your budget is 4k just go with Origin or something similar if you cant build it yourself. You dont need lapping and delidding on most cpus, and with the newer ones its really not worth the risk and cleanup time.

Don't really need to spend 4K, this is already plenty good enough for high settings at 1440p ultra wide in most games, I wouldn't go above a 2080 super in any event.

Can just call up a local PC shop most likely and they can order the parts and get it delivered for an extra $100-150 max I'd assume.

If you want full custom water cooling that'd be a lot more, but I'd just stick to air cooling so you never have to worry about a leak or something.

Ya but their parts pricing and availability isn't the best in itself.

  • Wait for Black Friday, you'll get the best deals.
  • Other than Black Friday (it's only a few weeks away, so waiting is worth it) waiting makes no sense; you'll be waiting forever if you're looking at stuff on the verge of coming out.
  • Putting together a PC is (often easier) like building a Lego set. If you take your time, watch a couple of videos, you'll be perfectly fine.
If you're able to disassemble and reassemble your rifle, you can build a PC.
Just understand that it not posting at first is normal and happens to the best of us ?
  • There's literally thousands of different build options, and you'll get tons of them here. There's no real "best one".

That said, this is what I'd do...with current pricing. When Black Friday comes, the parts list would be different, as I'd just go with whatevers on sale. NewEgg flyers tend to leak a week or so before the sale starts, so you can keep an eye out for that and preplan accordingly.

Motherboard: ASRock X570 Extreme4 WiFi ax ATX AM4 Motherboard  ($239.99 @ Amazon)

Total: $3318.81

As @Streetguru pointed out, the 2080 Super is about 90% of the performance of a 2080Ti at a significantly cheaper price. It's what I'd go for if you're willing to drop the 2080Ti requirement. AMD doesn't really have a card that'll compete with it performance wise, so I'd stick Nvidia with a GSync monitor. You can get cheaper coolers, I just picked this one because of the LCD that shows the temp...I'm a sucker for the little things. At higher resolutions the Ryzen CPU, when overclocked, is a good runner.

I wouldn't trust many PC Shops with building a PC, at least you'll know NZXT has very very good build quality, and warranty

Considering you are able to spend $4k, NZXT BLD is a good shout.

https://www.letsbld.com/bld/step5?price=2500&draft=2925714160

This build has

8 core Intel i9-9900k. Not the best value, but somehow cheaper on NZXT's website than equivalent Ryzen CPUs. Cooled with 280mm AIO

RTX 2080 Ti

1TB Samsung NVME SSD

4x8GB RAM 3200MHz

Comes out to $3,148.88

Here's a monitor you can use:

https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0798Q8KG4?tag=pcpapi-20&linkCode=ogi&th=1&psc=1

1440p ultrawide with 144Hz refresh rate, IPS panel and 1ms latency. This monitor is $894.90

Total is around $4k, but you can switch the 2080 Ti for a 2080 Super which has about 90% of the performance, and is $500 less on the website(same with MSRP)

I'd really like to have GSynk. The reason I'm willing to spend so much money I don't have (Credit) is I'd like to play futer games on ultra settings with modified longer draw distances too for the next at least 5 years.

That's why I'd want to builder to do it. I can't seem to find the website that offered lapping and Delidding and overclocking with warranty!

Because its not worth it at all with current gen cpu's, they are now both soldered, which pretty much removes the point to adding LM and delidding. Theres always room for improvement, but there is never going to be a warranty.

Lapping can be worth it your cpu is REALLY bad, but most of them are not like that. I just takes hours and hours of sanding for a few degrees of benefit, where it really doesnt matter.Lapping only matters when your doing LN2 Cooling and stuff that would require every bit of help. You are not going to notice the difference between 80 Celsius and 77 Celsius in your games on your cpu.

By that time your 2080ti will be outdated too...Radeon Image Sharpening on the other hand, might save you, as you can cheat out more performance without losing much image quality.

Free-sync is the same thing(when done well), and Nvidia supports free-sync now, most of the displays should have a good implementation of free-sync.

and if you're putting it on credit...then for sure don't spend too much money. The $1000 GPU in 2 years will be 30-40% faster than the 2080ti assuming AMD gets their act together further when it comes to making huge high end GPU dies. the RX 5800 XT is coming soon as well, and it should be a $599-699 2080 super at least
