A 1080Ti's still fine, right?

This is more a rhetorical question looking for discussion/banter, but if I don't give a flying flip about ray-tracing, a 1080Ti (EVGA FTW3 model) is sufficient right?

 

I mean, I can run The Outer Worlds at full detail level at 1440p so that's pretty nice...

Yes. It still outperforms 500-600$ graphic cards once overclocked.

Upgrade every 2-3 generations, imo if you can't double your performance for the same price its not a good upgrade imo

the 1080 ti is as good as it always was, it hasn't become any worse. It still compares to an RTX 2080.

I WILL find your ITX build thread, and I WILL recommend the SIlverstone Sugo SG13B

If it does what you want it to and you are satisfied with it then yes, it's still fine. This applies to pretty much everything.

If you're thinking of buying a new one, it could possibly be more expensive than brand new RTX 2070 Supers/RTX 2080s because they're not in production anymore. Used 1080 Ti's are insane value though

No need to change what you find sufficient. 1080ti's only problem for new buyers is that its price has not dropped at all comparing to previous flagships, just like Intel Haswell i7s

The performance is still top tier.  The only thing it's missing is RTX, and the company trying to tell you you're crazy not to have it also just released another non-RTX card to add to the long list they continue making, so there's very mixed messages there lol

Yep, Nvidia just want us to be early adopters of a new technology. In a couple of years an RTX card will probably be desirable, maybe even necessary, but that will depend on the game developers. My 1080Ti still rocks at 4K.
