Black Friday

Coopermar

What are you expecting in terms of sales on AMD and Intel Cpus? Specifically, the 9900k, 9700k, 3700x, 3900x.

While you're asking about CPUs, it's better to have one thread for Black Friday in general and have it in this section.

Just FYI:  Black Friday will not put up hot gear, its all weird gear and stupidt things or a Vizio TV for 400 bucks and stuff like that.  The 9900k and so on 3900x and what not will not go on a killer sale on black friday, however their prices will drop by default due to its the end of the year.  Don't expect price changes with those CPU's as that is not what black friday is about.  Unless Im wrong but every black Friday I notice its weird stupid things that go on sale.  Not top of the line gear that is new like the 3900x.  The 3900x will remain 500 dollars and so will the 9900k.

Asus Sabertooth x79 / 4930k @ 4500 @ 1.408v / Gigabyte WF 2080 RTX / Corsair VG 64GB @ 1866 & AX1600i & H115i Pro @ 2x Noctua NF-A14 / Carbide 330r Blackout

Scarlett 2i2 Audio Interface / KRK Rokits 10" / Sennheiser HD 650 / Logitech G Pro Wireless Mouse & G915 Linear & G935 & C920 / SL 88 Grand / Cakewalk / NF-A14 Int P12 Ex
AOC 40" 4k Curved / LG 55" OLED C9 120hz / LaCie Porsche Design 2TB & 500GB / Samsung 950 Pro 500GB / 850 Pro 500GB / Crucial m4 500GB / Asus M.2 Card

You're not wrong. BF deals are a bi-product of retailers and manufactures collaborating to bring excess stock to customers at a discount. Its purpose is to sell off excess stock before new products release the following year and make a final push towards their revenue for that year. While it's not impossible to find a few bucks off a flagship product, it's not going to be an earth shattering deal, they don't have to discount something if people are still willing to buy it at that price.

Dude your very very smart.  I like what you wrote.  Good job man.  You rock!  Im just waiting for the 10980XE which I know wont be slashed in price this year at least and even next at only 1k.  Along with a Gigabyte Aorus X299x and 64GB 3600Mhz quad channel and what not.

Thanks man. ? I'm actually running a system similar to yours, EVGA X79 Dark, 4930K @4.7GHz and while the system serves most of my needs it's definitely showing it's age. The lack of M.2 is probably my biggest issue at the moment and those PCI adapters are not an option for me. People are outraged that Intel is still on a 14nm node (to be fair 5 years is an eternity) and we're chugging along with 22nm chips. ? I have my money set aside till I make a final decision on how I'll tackle this upgrade.

Not entirely true. Top tier SSDs, hard drives, motherboards, monitors, etc etc all get steeply discounted. Also, top end laptops also get deep discounts. You'll generally also find better combo deals on motherboards and CPUs. Yes, the CPUs themselves don't go too deeply discounted, but it's far from all "weird gear".

You're not entirely wrong, not entirely right either. There's a lot of product that's ordered in especially for Black Friday....not excess inventory that's left over. Also, hard drives go very deeply discounted, and those products are not on yearly refresh cycles, same with monitors. So no, it's not all clearance stock making room for next years inventory.

Actually, in the SSA, it's the day after Thanksgiving (whih isn't always the last Friday of the month; this year, it is). It got it's name since, for many vendors, it's the first time the year's sales go into the black. Cyber Monday is the first Monday after Black Friday.

They might go on sale, no one knows yet (except Newegg)
Im waiting for the Gigabyte Aurus X570 Elite to go sale, and Intel 660p 2TB, 16GB RAM.

Not sure on the CPU, be cheap and get a 2600 and save for an R9.

Doesn't look like Amazon has an official storewide Black Friday sale. It look like they only have deals on certain items. ☹️  https://www.amazon.com/Black-Friday/b?ie=UTF8&node=384082011
