RTX 2070 running at 99% can't maintain stable 50fps in full HD with mixed ultra-to-high setting and no AA, in scenes with lots of lightning it goes down to 33 ~ 38

That's about sum up the RDR2 PC experience for me

Played it in One X, replaying it now. Waiting for the chrismas steam release to buy it for the PC. IMO, Red dead is one of the the best game i have played, seriously they knocked it out of the park. I am truly amazed by how good it looks on the consoles, native 4k 30 on the one X on such a dense open world game is really a feat in it self.

This game is either unoptimized, or a power hungry beast that devours on hardware, or both

RDR2 is a gpu hog. I have a gtx 1080 TI and had to lower settings to balance in the lower end preset to maintain over 60 fps at 1080P and gpu load whas 97 % to 99 % the hole time. And I have an old I7 980x oc 4.4 ghz means the old x58 platform. And the cpu ran game just fine only one lag in 1 hour game play. So my conclusion is RDR2 needs a powerful gpu, while most cpu even old ones will handle it just fine.

Maybe u can wait for  patch ,

keep updating nvidia driver plus Rockstar launcher app to solve optimisation problem.

IMO this is much more demanding than Witcher 3, 1060 would be the bare minimum requirement for 1080p medium setting

Pretty sure it does not. Most modern games do not, SLI is more or less getting phased out of PC gaming.

So far so good, optimization was pretty meh yesterday, supposedly they updated the game an hour or two ago that has somewhat fixed performance so we'll see, I won't be able to test it out until after work tonight. Using my rig which is in my signature, I get about 80fps with a mix of High and Ultra settings at 1440p, with pretty common places like towns and heavily wooded areas being at about 55 to 60fps. I have not seen below 55fps using a mix of Ultra/High and Vulkan for the most part the game is at 76 to 80fps and when the game drops down to 55 to 60fps it's not a sudden drop it's still smooth and playable no major stutter or drops that have ruined anything. This game 100% requires a beefy beefy rig.

Like I said, I have not played it today after they patched it so I can't speak for it now, but yesterday before the patch it was by far the most graphically demanding game I've played. I can play Metro Exodus, Crysis 3, and The Witcher 3 on pretty much max settings all at 1440p and get over 100fps with very minimal issues, the new COD on max settings I get between 160 and 180fps without drops, and with this game using custom/tweaked settings the maximum frame rate I get is 80fps with my average being about 76ish, and lows being 55fps but it is smooth, some minor stutter here and there but it's barely noticeable. There are A LOT of graphics settings and it will probably take me some time to tweak it just right to keep it highly detailed and run better. I can let you know how it runs once I get home and test it out after the patch. But as of yesterday it's been the hardest hitting game I've played on my system. This game is 100% the new "If you can run this, you can run anything" game.

First of all spooky thnx for taking interest in my section ,

ur opinion is highly valuable for me

I just notice tht u r computer technician,

Great ?????

Its good tht ur doing what u love the most,

Very few ppl get opportunities to do what they love to do.

I will feel highly privileged if I can get guidance of urs.

Actually the problem is if this game didn’t support NV link, it will create problem performance wise for me.

Hope you will get rid of this issue ( by tweaking n all)

your cordially

Ayush

Thanks man appreciate it!

This game does not have multiple GPU support, it's possible it will still work, there hasn't been any testing on it just yet. However I believe it will only use one GPU. And unfortunately I do not have another GPU to test it out.
