Linus said on WAN show that 30fps is preferred over 60fps among LTT viewers. Is that true?

If it is a cinematic piece, 24fps.

If it is a fast motion piece (sports, racing, etc), 60fps. (or 48/50 for everyone else that has 50hz electronics.)

Fine you want the PSU tier list? Have the PSU tier list: https://linustechtips.com/main/topic/1116640-psu-tier-list-40-rev-103/

Personally I like the 60fps upload as it allows for 60fps b roll which looks really nice, but for scenarios where the camera isn’t moving and it doesn’t look choppy I prefer 30fps video.

I don't know how people enjoy anything that is shot with less than 60fps. I hate watching movies because of that, action movies shot with 24fps gives me motion sickness.

I agree. Its one of the reasons I just don't watch movies. 60fps is a little weird at first, but it makes videos so much nicer to watch once you get use to it.

Are you sure Linus said that? I remember him saying he didn't think LMG videos needed to be 60 FPS but alot of people from the audience complained that 60FPS wasn't an option and wanted 60 FPS.

re-watching, he seemed to kinda double talk. He said the videos are 30fps because he prefers it, but he wouldn't keep videos at 30fps if viewers didn't like it since the viewers preferences are what matter, not his own.

Anything with people needs to be at 24-30fps. Any interactive content or gameplay should be at >= 60fps.

I mainly listen to videos, so I don't care. But LMG doesn't do anything that would actually require smooth viewing experience. Like sports. So why bother? Same thing with doing something else than 16:9 aspect ratio.

Depends on the content.  If it's gaming is almost needs to be 60.  Some games are passable at less but best to just not play with fire.  If it's a talking head like they do, then 30 is fine.  I wouldn't say no to 60 at all though, that wouldn't take anything away from it.  That's about the minimum though for me.  I dislike videos done at 24 as even for talking head style content it's noticeably choppy and unpleasant.

If you can read this you're using the wrong theme.  You can change it at the bottom.

I personally like it more at 60FPS than 30FPS. Movement is smoother, while also being sharper.

I can live with 30FPS for videos, however 60FPS is preferred.

For something like gaming, 60FPS+ hands down.

Needs a "don't care" option in the poll. For LTT type content, it doesn't really matter assuming they're using an appropriate phase angle.

dont care either way for video.

i do think 60fps looks better and its especially noticable with a lot of action but since most of ltt video are very still i dont think it makes much of a difference. lets say id be happy if they were but im not gonna fight and argue if theyre not.

I always look funny at people who say they hate the "soap opera" feel when watching 60fps movies. Bitch, that's how high framerate view looks like. You're just not used to it because you watch crappy 24fps or 30fps video all your miserable life. Just saying.

60FPS movies and shows look so much better than that shitty low-framerate stuff.

personally i can see a difference between 30 and 60 fps.

and i don't know why i wouldn't want 60 fps if it's an option.

if i'm not on wifi and i have a low data plan on my phone i can see why it would benefit my data usage by only looking at 1080p 30fps videos.

but in my case since i have a lot of data in my subscription i don't know why i wouldn't want to have a better video experience

Anything i've written between the * and * is not meant to be taken seriously.
