It's not his money.  This isn't a Linus flex, Microcenter fronted the bill.  It's a commercial for Microcenter with a 'giveaway' at the end.

Actually beast uses a lot of his own money as well. He uses the money directly from his own merch store, and makes more videos with it. Its not all sponsors.

Yeah. The inherent flaws of high wattage single rails PSUs isnt great.

Speaking as someone who got a high wattage single rail PSU before knowing anything about PSUs.

Then  there is the issues with the G3.

Tho also same, I got my G3s before I was looking into PSUs much. But my M12II Evo didn't explode either so perhaps even eeeh ones aren't too bad. The latest high wattage lad I got was a proper multi-rail boye though, an RM1000i. Though I can put it into single rail mode to be a rebel ?

I don't think you can get a tax exemption for a donation like this. To get a tax receipt, you need to be donating to a registered charity organization, not to an individual.

Main PC:

AMD Ryzen 7 5800X • Noctua NH-D15 • MSI MAG B550 Tomahawk • 2x8GB G.skill Trident Z Neo 3600MHz CL16 • MSI VENTUS 3X GeForce RTX 3070 OC • Samsung 970 Evo 1TB • Samsung 860 Evo 1TB • Cosair iCUE 465X RGB • Corsair RMx 750W (White)

Peripherals/Other:

ASUS VG27AQ • G PRO K/DA • G502 Hero K/DA • G733 K/DA • G840 K/DA • Oculus Quest 2 • Nintendo Switch (Rev. 2)

Laptop (Dell XPS 13):

Intel Core i7-1195G7 • Intel Iris Xe Graphics • 16GB LPDDR4x 4267MHz • 512GB M.2 PCIe NVMe SSD • 13.4" OLED 3.5K InfinityEdge Display (3456x2160, 400nit, touch).

Got any questions about my system or peripherals? Feel free to tag me (@bellabichon) and I'll be happy to give you my two cents.

PSA: Posting a PCPartPicker list with no explanation isn't helpful for first-time builders :)

Really curious, which Micro Center location is in this video?

It looks like the Tustin location, but wouldn't be surprised if they all look alike.

Not sure if this is meant to be positive or negative, but this vid is sponsored by Intel and Micro Center. So it's not Linus's money and thus your statement is incorrect sir. With this thinking you could classify every sponsored give away Linus has done (and there are alot) as a cheap advert. Well we have a word for that and it's: "sponsored". The company sponsoring gets something out of it, Linus gets something out of it and the winner gets something out of it. It is an advertisment, yes. And LMG doesn't make a secret of it. This isn't new and it's definitely not because of TeamTrees or Mr Beast. I don't see what the problem is. Remember, no commercial company wil give away stuff just for free because out of the kindness of their harts. They are in essence a commercial company and everything they do it to that end. If they can promote themselves by giving away stuff to us through LMG, then everybody is a winner. Clear as that, I've never understood why people can be so naive about this stuff.

I'm so jealous of you American's with your fancy stores. Webstores killed of all the physical stores over here in NL. Luckily Amazon isn't that big here and competition between small independent webshop owners is thriving, so atleast the prices are razor sharp. But it also means we don't have playgrounds to go look, touch and play.

It means you can't just drive upto a store and buy parts when you need them. Next day delivery is the standard yes, but when you're working on something right now, next day won't do you any good. Oh and you're double out of luck when it's in the evening because when you order out of office hours it means your order will be picked and shipped the next day which means it will be delivered the day after. So in practice next day delivery actually means the day after the next day delivery.

My first custom watercooled took me weeks to build because of all the missing parts I had to order and wrong fittings I had to return, not to mention the shipping costs I had to pay.

Runs a 42 ( I think it's 42 now right?) FTE company. If you only consider the adsense revenue and if that money went right into Linus's pocket then hey yeah great profit! But with modern day LMG and all the production value he would lose money because of all the work that has gone into it. LMG has long out grown it's "single camera on a tripod" era. Heck go watch the camera equipment, storage and networking video's and you'll see there probably nearly a million invested in equipment not to mention the sets, props and other things.

5K isn't even enough to pay the staff let alone the rent.
