What games do you play, since that will matter a lot when it comes to GPU performance?  I run the same resolution with a GTX 1080 and some slightly older games will run 100-120 FPS consistently whereas others I'll be hovering right around 60 FPS.

If you're monitor is only 60 Hz I'd try dropping down a touch from ultra to see if you can stay at 60 FPS in the games you play.  Most games you can't really tell the difference.

As far as GPU upgrades you are looking at moving to either the 2070 (super), 2080 (super), or 2080 Ti for Nvidia.  AMD RX 5700XT if you would entertain moving to the red team.  if I were you I'd wait for the next generation of cards to launch sometime next year.  The 2070 Super would probably get you to the 60 FPS you're looking for, but that such an incremental upgrade over the 2060 you already have that to me it would make more sense to wait to see what the new cards will offer.

I was contemplating moving to the 2080 Super, but couldn't justify the cost this generation for the games I play.  I look forward to the next round of cards, at which point I'll likely upgrade my GTX 1080.

Hope that helps.

you want a 1080 TI / 2070 or better

my 1080 ti now runs everything perfectly maxing out 75hz on my 34uc88-b but only after i watercooled and oced the crap out of it. i mean it depend on how high your expectations are but i wouldnt go with less than that at that resolution.

"You know it'll clock down as soon as it hits 40°C, right?" - "Yeah ... but it doesnt hit 40°C ... ever  😄"

GPU: MSI GTX1080 Ti Aero @ 2 GHz (watercooled) CPU: Ryzen 5600X (watercooled) RAM: 32GB 3600Mhz Corsair LPX MB: Gigabyte B550i PSU: Corsair SF750 Case: Hyte Revolt 3
