Ryzen Upgrade

Hesper

Hello everyone! I'm planning to do an upgrade for my PC.

I currently have:
Ryzen 3 2200G

Gigabyte GTX1050TI OC Edition 4GB

8GB RAM ADATA 2666Mhz (2x4GB)

1TB WD Caviar Blue

120GB SSD

Edit: I have MSI A320M pro vh-plus (i dont overclock so i didnt get a b450m)

I'm picking between upgrading the cpu (upgrade to Ryzen 5 2600) or ram (upgrade to 16GB Kingston Hyper X Fury 2x8GB 2666Mhz)

I mostly play at 1366x768 resolution and no plans yet on playing at 1080p, games are Dota 2, PUBG, DMC5, Far Cry New Dawn, AC Odyssey.

P.S. GPU is already set for an upgrade this Christmas (to GTX 1060ti or RX 580)

P.P.S. I get 60fps on all games at max settings except for PUBG but i'm experiencing stuttering specially win AC Odyssey when traveling at sea, the screen will freeze for 1 second

Thanks in advance! Will appreciate it if you have better options, max budget is around $130 (price of ryzen 5 2600 here)

Why not go with faster RAM? 2666mhz isn't the best match for Ryzen, especially if you plan on upgrading the processor in the future.

TBH I think the CPU would be a better bet, if you can only afford one. Depends how much stuff you run in the background.

CPU: Ryzen 9 5900 Cooler: EVGA CLC280 Motherboard: Gigabyte B550i Pro AX RAM: Kingston Hyper X 32GB 3200mhz

I could buy a faster RAM but I dont know how to set the XMP profile thing on the BIOS, anyway, let's say ill upgrade between a 3200Mhz 16GB ram or the Ryzen 5 2600, if we base on the games I play, will upgrading to Ryzen 5 2600 be better? (i only download movies, browse socmed or just watch videos on youtube if im not playing)

Thanks for replying! Really appreciate it

You kind of have a wide range of games. Like the easier ones to play probably won't care as much about the CPU, but 4 cores is getting a little taxing these days.

I'd probably go for the CPU, but if you cross your fingers maybe there will be some killer Black Friday sales and you can squeeze both into your budget.

There is going to be a sale at the end of November here in our country and I'm also waiting for that. If not, I'll go with the CPU then. Thanks a lot for the advice! Have a good day!
