Will it bottleneck in gaming?

TheWahmenRespektor

Current specs:

Ryzen 5 2400g APU w/ 2gbs of vRam dedicated

16gb ddr4 2400mz ram

450watt PSU

My question is will my computer bottleneck if I add a RX 5700 or 5700XT?

I don't want suggestions for GPUs or CPUs, I want that specific question answered... I've been looking for answers for about a month now and nobody can seem to give me a straight answer. I've tried googling youtube videos and all seems well but I'm still skeptical.

In general you should be fine with that combination.

There will never be a perfect combo with no bottleneck one way or another. I think there will be a minimal cpu bottle neck but nothing close. Bottlenecking isn't widely covered unfortunately...

2400g/ddr2400 is a pretty bad battleneck for AAA titles, also wouldn't put a 5700/xt with a 450w cpu.

I asked that same exact question a few days ago on here (I have the 2400g), but have 3200 mhz RAM. I was told that it may bottleneck a little with that combination of CPU/GPU but it will hardly be noticeable, at least with a RX 5700. If this bothers you, you could always OC your CPU and RAM and just upgrade to a 2600X/3600 in a few years... I would try to get at least a 550-600w PS though.

2400 mhz RAM won't cause 'pretty bad bottlenecks' in games like others have said.

even if it does hold up the gpu from time to time in some games it'll sill be worlds better.

The bottleneck should not be that significant. It is still a quad core/8 thread CPU that is relatively powerful.

I agree, I'd go with the 5700 though...It will be a night and day difference over the 2400g's igpu...
