Rtx 2060 vs gtx 1070ti

Hello, i'm currently trying to choose between the rtx 2060 and gtx 1070ti.

 

I know rtx is the future, but it does not really matter to me.

 

Is it still worth it to buy the older generation or the newer one?

What's the price difference?

 

If they are similarly priced, I would get the RTX 2060.

 

You get the new NVENC on RTX along with DLSS, which both I think are worth having.

Not sure about the price tho. Online shop post listing are not that up to date

The 1070 ti, used off eBay, is excellent value. When talking new, they are of very similar performance, with the 1070 ti only having a slight lead. The extra 2GB of vram is great, especially because GDDR5 is not much worse than GDDR6.

I WILL find your ITX build thread, and I WILL recommend the SIlverstone Sugo SG13B

Unless you absolutely need the NVENC encoder, the RX 5700 is higher performance, and should be about the same price as the 2060. (depending on where you live)

I think most of us are running RX 5700s on PCI-E 3.0.

 

I personally have no performance hit or issues.

 

I wonder how much GTX 1070tis are going for on ebay, when you can find an RTX 2060 for $300~ USD right now for similar performance, and all of the new features.

Yeah. You shouldn’t. They made it PCIe 4.0 because they could, not because it meant anything. I was just curious as to whether turtle said that based on anything other than his usual nonsense.
