AIO dying, need Recommendations

Hi, Just a few hours ago, my AIO seems to be dying(i've had it for 5 years). It's a CM seidon 240mm and im really happy with it. But i think it really needs a replacement as the pump is making weird noises.

Any 240mm/280mm that are really good and very durable? Should i switch to air cooling?

This is just me but if you don't care about the sex appeal of your computer, something like a NH D15 should work just fine and be more reliable in the long run.

If your going to use a cooler for a long time, then I recommend getting an air cooler, as from personal experience, they tend to last longer. I'm not really sure about 240/280mm aio coolers because I've only used one 120mm aio personally.

in the long run air cooling is gonna be more reliable. if only because it has fewer moving parts and thus fewer parts that wear down.

there's something just inherently sexy about watercooling tho..

i have not used an AIO in years, i do custom watercooling on all my rigs now.

the last one i used was the old type Corsair H100 tough. and it was fantastic, never had a problem with it and it served me for years!

i cannot speak for the newer Corsair ones tough. have not used those.

If you don't care about looks the single best cooling option is the NH-D15 but if you do I would recommend a Corsair AIO such as the H100i pro or H115i pro. If you do want a sexy air cooler the Dark Rock Pro 4 is a pain but it looks good and cools pretty damn well.

Use it as an excuse to go custom water cooling.  5 years is a good amount of time.

H100i or H115i

swapped my NH D15 for the 115i and my temps are at least 10°C lower than before.

In addition to the motor failure, Most AIO mix copper(the block) and aluminium(the rad) in the same loop; while the coolant has low conductivity in the beginning, it will get ionized over the years eventually, leading to the galvanic corrosion ( the battery reaction) and therefore potential leak.

If you have to stick with AIO, consider those with excellent custom service. Personally i will go for EVGA CLC 360 or CLC 280
