Hello,

"High Power Performance GD"

this model is currently listed under both the Tier B and the Tier C. is this a mistake? was there a new info about theis particular PSU that lowered its tier into Tier C? what's up with that?

I also see Chieftec Polaris listed as gold, meaning superior compared to its tier mates, but wasn't high power performance gd also the same with Polaris, meaning GD model would also be golden colored for its tier?

@LukeSavenije @Juular

Performance gd 600w (include single pcie power Y cable  two sockets) Ryzen 3600 pbo + 5700xt pulse (p bios) all stock system combine random reset and system shutdowns in the game there were problems in our own tests. We changed it performance gd 750w(include two pcie power Y cable 4 sockets) and system worked perfectly.I wanted to share my experience.

Hey guys,

Looking for a new 1000w+ PSU, Currently from what I've found in stock its between the Asus ROG Thor 1200w or the Corsair Hx1000i.

Currently have a 10900k OC'd to 5.2 and plan on getting a Evga 3080 or 3090 hybrid GPU when they come out.

Let me know if there's a different PSU I should consider, these are just some of the ones I've found that are in stock at a somewhat reasonable price and still Tier A.

It's an error, no idea how it ended up in tier C, it's position is in tier B.

It would if we would have more info about it, all we have right now is an assumption, based on external shots that it's the same platform as Chieftec Polaris.

I can't find much info either except that based on external shots it looks like yet another Andyson M5 or derivative, fairly mediocre DC-DC design but that doesn't tell anything about it's actual performance. I'll add it in tier C low priority.

So I pulled the trigger, is this a good PSU for 2070 super/ possibly 3070?

Edit: amazon typical it's hard to say which model this really is, it says this in the  'description' :

20200909_205258.thumb.jpg.effcc23ae7238ccde446729546e20c2d.jpg(i suppose CM model is preferable?)

And I almost forgot I need these cables, correct?

It only comes with outdated 6pin PCI cables as far I know .

And I can use the 6+2pin on my 1060 as well?

Edit: ok I see it's "gold tier".  But which model, doesn't matter I guess?  CM maybe just stands for modular? 🤔

It's ... decent. I wouldn't call it a good PSU for 550$ GPU but it's really not worth returning if you've bought it already.

Ok but a better one would also cost more right? (This one cost 100 euros)

I'm kinda on a budget since I'm already buying that 550 dollarios GPU but if you have a suggestion for a better similarly priced one I'm open to suggestions... (Silence is important too, I can't hear my current PSU at all and I'd hope the 700w variant would be the same)

No no no.  That's absurd.

Multi 12V rail is only on stuff where the manufacturer feels it necessary to implement it or feels that not having it will hurt their marketing because people read tier lists instead of reviews.

And people that think multi 12V rail is "better" is drinking some serious kool aid.

Top of the line DSP Titanium PSU with... wait for it.... a single 125A +12V rail!!!!

OMG!!!  Must not be high tier!!!!  /sarcasm

Exactly...

I think they would have to clarify "better for what?"

I don't think it's actually a bad thing to have because it provides some extra protection if the PSU is higher wattage.

And the option of switching back and forth is a nice feature for those that have it.

But not being Multi-Rail wouldn't keep me from getting a high quality PSU.
