Mobo for Ryzen 3700x under 200$

Recommended Posts

Hi, I'm going to upgrade my PC. Ryzen 7 3700x, rtx 2060, 3600mhz cl 18 16GB ddr4. What motherboard should I buy under 200$? I've read  a lot of reviews but all of them recommend different mobo.

It's better to buy high end b450 ( Gaming -f ) or spend all of my budget on the new x570?

EDIT. I took Gigabyte X570 AORUS ELITE.

Gigabyte X570 Aorus Elite is around 200USD. Its a great X570 motherboard that can handle high overclock.

Main system: i7 8700k 5Ghz / Asus Prime Z370-A / Corsair Vengeance 2x8GB 3000Mhz / Gigabyte RTX2080 Aorus Extreme / EVGA 750W GQ / Fractal Design Meshify C

Is it worth to buy X570? Only for PCI gen4 and more usb 3.1 gen 2?

Better VRM if you plan on overclocking your CPU.

In that case you can get B450 motherboard. Just don't forget to flash the Bios.

MSI B450 Tomahawk or MSI B450 Gaming Pro Carbon are great options.

I think I might stick to Asus b450 gaming -f, and buy bigger SSD with that money.

Yes. Asus doesn't support USB flashback like MSI. On MSI boards you can flash the Bios without any CPU installed.

Only MSI support USB flashback?

Get into contact with AMD, they will send you a CPU strictly for updating the BIOS, and then you can send it back and put your CPU in.

I think only high end Asus ROG Crosshair VII X470 supports this feature. Lowest end Asus boards don't. I might be wrong though. Good way to find out is to look at rear IO. There should be "BIOS" button with 2 arrows in a circle on it with dedicated USB slot.

The Chipset has nothing to do with VRMs. It's down to what the MB manufacture decides to put on the board.  They could put a balling VRM on an B350 and a shit one on an X570.

@Bezolek If you don't care about PCIe 4 the just get a B450 fro around $110, you won't notice any difference.

You are right, only the C7H have a BIOS flashback button, other then that it's a MSI thing.

Buying a high end B450 or X470 is kind of stupid, you can get better or equivalent X570 boards for the same price and get PCIe gen 4. Unless you want to buy a mid range B450, just jump into X570.

Main System: Ryzen 2700, Asus Crosshair VII Hero, EVGA GTX 1080ti SC, 970 EVO Plus NVMe, Crucial Ballistix 3200mhz CL14, CM H500, CM ML240L cpu cooler.

Second System: Ryzen 2400G, Gigabyte B450 DS3H, RX 580 Nitro+, Kingston A400 SSD, Team T-Force 3200mhz CL15

If it ain't overclocked it ain't good...

What is this build for? it doesn't seem very balanced besides you'd be better off with 3200mhzCL14 memory if you want "maximum performance" but that aside it'd be nice to know what you plan on doing with the computer to have a better idea whether or not this is a balanced pairing.

Don't ASUS have their EZ flash or something along that line?
