not getting 120hz at 5120x1440 on Samsung CRG9

Brock Obama

hello everyone, i am having some difficulties with my my new display. Nvidia control panel will not allow me to set the display to 120hz at 5120x1440

- I have used the microsoft update utility to force windows to update to its latest version (i found that windows update had miss fired so i was not at the newest revision, but updating didnt fix the problem)
- i have the latest Nvidia Drivers on my Gtx1080
- display port cable is being used

at page 27 in the manual there is a chart showing the refresh rates when using HDMI and DP. when i open Nvidia control panel my options for resolution and refresh rate is the same as for the HDMI spec. i am supposed to se options for 60hz, 100hz and 120hz at 5120x1440 but it jumps from 5120x1440 - 60hz down to 3840x1080 - 120hz.

it almost seems like my DP connetion is being treated as HDMI. i have no clue so any and all help is appreciated

thank you all :)

Checked the drivers? For monitor. Windows can do anything after a update.

(This is coming from someone who just reinstalled Windows 2 hours ago after a crash due to an update lol)

I think you need to set the monitor to 8 bit to get 120hz.

I noticed in a disclaimer in an add that stated:

16.7M is 8 bit.
