Drives no show without CMOS reset

Hi,

So i apologise if this is in the wrong section as its both a motherboard and storage issue but i have two drives running in RAID 0 that only show up if i reset the CMOS before boot.

i Have an SSD and another HDD that show up just fine with a restart, but the other two drives will disappear from the bios disk manager etc after a restart.

Does anyone know what might be causing this, i dont want to have to short the pins before every boot.

ROG STRIX B450-F is my motherboard if that helps

I've had that with a machine and it was just something like corruption of the boot sector. Format/reinstall solved it.

Would you recommend a format of the drives or a reinstall of windows ?

Ideally I would hope the prior as it seems the less destructive option

I take that as an opportunity to start clean so I'd format the RAID set that I expect is the one you boot off from and reinstall, obviously the other drives don't need to be touched.

There might be ways to repair it but I never looked into it since in my case I didn't know that was the issue in the first place.
