One Plus 7T Pro

"The OnePlus 7T Pro won’t be available in the US or Australia, but you will be able to buy it if you’re in the UK. It's set to go on sale on October 17."

Well that's a bummer.  I was actually waiting until it came out to get it.  Why would the just leave out such a huge market?

I heard something along the lines of that they were alternating model refreshes between Asia and western markets, since they have a 6 month update cycle unlike most other manufacturers. Not sure if this is correct though.

I realize you are mocking me but why would you not pass the cost onto the customer to at least make some profit?  To my knowledge Huawei is the only one that is flat out banned from direct sale in the US.  So while your comment makes a modicum of sense in the end it fails to offer any real meaningful content or explanation.

I understand what you are saying but I would consider the UK a western market.

Yeah, perhaps I was oversimplifying saying 'western'. What I really meant was they are potentially splitting their markets into two groups, and alternating updates between them. But as I said, this could be incorrect.

Premium flagships sales are slowing down in the US, so OnePlus has opted to only refresh the non-pro devices here in the US. I'm disappointed also as the McLaren Edition is super alluring, but I'm not willing to import it.

I am at quite an impasse with OnePlus, though. The OnePlus 7T already has everything I want, but for some reason I really want the Pro model and don't want to compromise with the slightly older 7 Pro. I'm at the point where I kind of just want to see if the Pixel 4 XL is any better rather than wait on OnePlus to release what I want.

if you have to insist you think for yourself, i'm not going to believe you.

You said everything I was thinking in that second paragraph there Suika.  The only thing i'm excited about the P4 for is the Soli radar as that could be a really cool feature that could add very cool functionality.  Since I can't get a 7t Pro I'll probably go with the P4.

Tariffs. OnePlus is based in China, and the US has this boner for doing stupid things with its international policy right now.

Aerocool DS are the best fans you've never tried.

Tackling China's terrible trade behavior has broad bipartisan support, even if Trumps strategy is flawed. The US as with many other global regions has significant and legitimate grievances with China on trade, and that's before we even broach security issues.
