upgrading the ram of new laptop

Go to solution Solved by Eigenvektor,

Apparently it doesn't support faster RAM, so no.

Hi all, I'm planning to buy an area 51m

It only comes with the option of 2400mhz Rams

Would it be worth to buy higher MHz ram and replace the brand new ones?

Only if the system supports XMP. Most do not, I think the current Area 51’s only support up to 2666mhz, which wouldn’t be a noticeable upgrade by any means.

The stock setup is likely the best choice unless you want more capacity, in which case 2400mhz is still ideal since mismatch ram will always default to the lowest speed in the mix.

I just Google it and apparently the laptop already ships with 2666mhz Rams and people are waiting for a bios update to support xmp.
