ASUS VG27AQ or the LG 27GL850?

roughJelly

After watching LTT and some other research, I'm still stuck trying to decide between these two for a new build. Going to have a 2070 Super and a Ryzen 5 3600X to pair with it. From what I can gather it seems like the ASUS may be better strictly for gaming because of the motion blur reduction feature, but that the LG has slightly better color matching and might be a better hybrid?

My gaming balance is split between MOBAs, FPS, and "pretty games"

Any advice or testimonials from anyone with these monitors?

I am asking myself the same question, I just bought a 3700X / rtx2080 rig and I want to buy a modern gaming display to go with it.

27' and 1440p are my chosen screen size and resolution, the two screens you picked are supposed to be the best right now.

A direct head to head comparison would be so helpful.

Both are 2560×1440. Both are 144Hz (with Asus one OC to 165Hz which is okay but u can get by without it)

Ultro low motion blur (ULMB) I see all YouTubers hate it. And I can understand why. U have a high refresh rate, why not have slower movements in more smoothness than blur them ? ULMB I guess works for low fps. HDR 10 which I hear is a gimmick on any monitor of low brightness, but it works to a small extent.

Asus and LG both are G-Sync Compatible so Freesync but certified by Nvidia, so no screen tearing either way.

Nano IPS of LG is improved IPS with wider colour gamut, so if Ur into content creation and know your stuff, *only* then this wud be better but.

Both are easily the same. Choose the cheaper one which u can find.

Ur good to go :)
