IPS or VA

It's 8ms on average, so not really. You want all transitions to be close to 6,94 ms, with +/- 2ms tolerance, since you won't notice that small amount of ghosting. I reckon that C24G1 probably has some poor G2G reponse times, since its a cheap VA. Only the best VA can get to 10-12 ms G2G response times, poor ones are around 20-35ms.

You can't know that for sure without review, or without testing the monitor yourself. Cheap IPS can sometimes have also horrible response time for G2G in 18-20ms range, but i would still choose cheap IPS over cheap VA for gaming, if you dont want TN. You will have a hard time to find a cheap TN in 2018/2019 that has G2G greater than 8ms.

Well rip I ordered the IPS monitor. I hope the backlight bleed isn't too much.

Backlight bleed has nothing to do with panel type. Its manufacturing flaw. You probably had IPS glow in mind.

Ok so I got it, still not sure what I think about it. The blacks are ok I guess and idk about BLB. Also the power port is really loose and the cable always falls out when I tilt the screen. Ghosting doesn't any better than the C24G1. I have mixed feelings and I think I would prefer the C24G1, but I'm not sure yet. Will have to use it for a bit.Oyi5351HR8zEI9QmGd-ABY1CEad79YFPTtGJBbqfFWaAIlQ5zMjq7gRsQaTufi69txDS_Eyts553FMNVPYf1RwfDV-CzJTZJNFO0gf0xdoXQsuupk9J5iMH-wDOWAHsnQ7GCMGaGL9gCb-h6IAahBWsTIpKwXHSvPiC4j2SyTSpGEjxyT3L_3kIbyW3BhFls3Ybu41uPiqEqcJpn_o34lV8LBjtyuUiPH2gpEXM0fXpLhPnj0jWTL2-tOQr2L-mt9hK4Xp_h0HSTeEKd4-UIdQpBHOqk8Ya8uTs_HQP5Ud8gF-x0Fq9bOneBRUcU4UzrzhH2C_rX_w-qg0Wbrt4P5xzhOR8cnmDIjjtl_EQj-bdeo6uf4YFl9YpIl6kuYyh_xcDGwoBxnEYJ_GKxk_qKWp-nkGMSefbU48VDxMBpM7EdnumZmtSmOeZD01Rc0SmsxpDrnhSmAayJ04HTjX_xBw-3-DfhFXBhE-XpoScUZ9aIMBZoHlpx0Dqf4O_adou81CEyR07yxi11pPOl6SQ9eoSAZwlHkxh4GNmt018cXFPjIZP9koAUm9X1wiCyt8MStaEcRl1ZCzgs4Tod2PvpYnz9N48u09fqaGb4XigRxuMmUcLSQ7zXl6LJLUlLS8RR0jkAn5JDPXVQYag5tlzhl9NMVso9zRVyUhjkGl11QqEgqua_PXW5FMs=w1250-h937-no

Also in settings it says the panel is 8-bit?

Afaik camera picks up alot more glow than what you'd see with your own eyes... Or does it actually look like that in the picture when viewing in a dark room? If so that seems a tad unbearable.

So overall, do you prefer the c24g1 or 24g2u?

Actually after calibrating it 24G2U looks pretty good, might prefer it to C24G1

Though C24G1 is true 8-bit and 24G2(U) is 6-bit+FRC

I edit my posts more often than not
