GPU Degradation Concerns

So I decided to run a folding client on my gaming computer temporarily. I have a server that is my main host but I wanted to pull some more points in so I started folding on my gaming rig, GPU only.

GPU is running around 65 C to 70 C. The question is, will running a GPU at 100% like this for let's say a month have any negative effects? Thermal paste, stability, life?

Not going to matter unless you throw a ton of voltage through it. You can always drop the power target by 20%, probably won't lose much performance.

I edit my posts a lot, Twitter is @LordStreetguru just don't ask PC questions there mostly...

What is your budget/country for your new PC?

what monitor resolution/refresh rate?

What games or other software do you need to run?

other than wearing a bit on the fan. no there wont be any negative effects. mining cards are more or less the same wear as gaming card if used for roughly the same period.

It'll be fine. Especially given Nvidia micromanages the voltage to a psychotic degree, degrading their hardware (without hardmods) in anything short of 5 years would be a real accomplishment.

Yours faithfully

As long as you don't go ham on the voltage, and clean it every so often, at those temps that card will probably meet the dump long before it fails due to thermal fatigue or any other sort of similar degradation.
