Moving by pressing the "A" key while holding down control to sprint doesn't work

AdvocateOfNyx

Ever since I got my PC set up I've had this issue where when I try to move with the A key and hold control at the same time (like sprint + strafe left in minecraft or crouching and moving in CS:GO).

Just recently started to bother me again as my friends and I started to get back on the Minecraft hype train.  This also happens in games where control is the crouch key which makes certain shooters essentially unplayable.

I'm assuming this is related to the Windows Control + A shortcut.  I've done some Googling but have had no luck finding a thread with a similar issue.  Any solutions?  :)

Does the combination work in a keyboard tester?

It might have some to do with rollover on your keyboard

Im guessing its from cheaper keyboards but you may be experiencing Keyboard Ghosting.

minecraft toggles sprint, holding it down may prevent you from doing so.

However, I personally like to bind any keys that I need to use a lot with my pinkie to my mouse, as even the cheapest gaming mouse has 2 side buttons. Perhaps this will circumvent your issue.

I WILL find your ITX build thread, and I WILL recommend the SIlverstone Sugo SG13B

Draws 400 watts under max load, for reference.

How many watts do I needATX 3.0 & PCIe 5.0 spec, PSU misconceptions, protections explainedgroup reg is bad

I'm not sure how to use one of these, but when I press control + a it highlights everything on the page which I am assuming is not supposed to happen?  But the A turns green...

I have been sprinting and crouching with control for years, I don't really want to change.  I like using my pinky.  Thanks for the idea, though!

I don't think so?  Here is my keyboard: https://www.amazon.com/Redragon-K556-Mechanical-Keyboard-Aluminum/dp/B01NAI2TXC

The page says "100% ANTI-GHOSTING 104 KEYS"

Also, the shortcut works in Windows.  And control + other keys (like w s and d) works fine, it is JUST the "A" key.

Do they light up orange at the same time too?

(the selecting the entire page is quite normal, seeing as that is the normal Ctrl+A command).

Other than double checking the game's control scheme, I am not sure what exactly the problem/solution could be.

Go to Windows Accessibility setting and turn those off. They can sometimes cause issues with n-key rollover.
